The Library

Here is a listing of books I have enjoyed reading. The next time you are looking for something to read, try one of these. Keep in mind, though, that our tastes may differ. If you don't like something, don't complain to me. After all, I didn't write these. If I do list one of my books here, and you don't like it, then you can complain.

Myst - A trilogy based on the popular computer game series. Read these if you want the worlds to feel truly alive. Unfortunately, I haven't read the Book of Atrus. Please, let me know where I can get it! I want to read it too.

Left Behind - No doubt you've heard of this series. They're up to ten now, and I can't wait to read how it ends! Just don't flame me if you don't like it; it isn't one of mine!

The Hobbit - Tolkien's classic prelude to the Lord of the Rings. It follows the adventures of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins after he is recruited by Gandalf and a group of dwarves as a rather relunctant burgler. Full of whimsical humor and insight, it reads almost like a children's tale. Consider this one for bedtime if you're a parent.

The Lord of the Rings - By now, you've probably figured out that I like Tolkien. I'd recommend anything by him, but especially this. Just make sure you have plenty of time for reading. Even separate, the three books take quite a while to finish.

Chronicles of Narnia - Although written for children, this series contains insights and observations into God's character that older children and adults will likely pick up on. The funny thing is, C.S. Lewis never intended the latter to happen.

A Space Trilogy - Also by Lewis, this one explores the questions many have asked about space: "Can we get there?" "Is there life on other planets?" "What exactly are those strange lights in the sky at night?" The third book also suggests a reason as to why magic has disappeared and that the myths of other cultures are real to a point. I highly recommend it.

Mere Christianity - I suppose you thought I only read fiction, huh? I haven't read all of this one, but I'm told it's good. Try it yourself, and draw your own conclusions.

Sherlock Holmes - Relive the adventures of the greatest detective in fiction. A character whose popularity confounded the author, Holmes' ability to solve cases confounds all but the greatest criminal minds. Short or long, I've always enjoyed these mysteries.

Fire Up Your Life! - Written by speaker and author Ken Davis, this book changed my life for the better. It taught me "how to live with nothing to prove, nothing to hide, and nothing to lose". Pick it up if you want a exciting, stress-free life!
